Tamia Taylor
Heidelberg
Tamia Taylor is a native of Heidelberg, MS, where is a proud graduate of Heidelberg High School. She is the mother of two, Michaela Joi (22) and Cade Nah’vid (13), and grandmother of Micah Josiah (3). She is the daughter of David and Gwendolyn Taylor Sr. Tamia has been an educator for 16 years. She has taught Geometry, Algebra II, Algebra I, Senior Seminar, Exceptional Education, and has been a Student Services Coordinator. She is currently the Lead Teacher at Laurel High School.
Tamia has an undergraduate degree in accounting from THEE Jackson State University, a guidance and counseling masters degree from the University of West Alabama, a specialist degree in educational leadership from William Carey University, and is currently working on her doctoral degree. She is an alum of Leadership Jones County and Mississippi Black Leadership Institute.
Tamia is a founding member of the Better Together Heidelberg organization which was created to revitalize and restore her small town. Tamia wants to continue to learn all the resources available to bring back to her beloved Heidelberg.
