She has fostered this passion in the founding The SHE Project, a nonprofit mentoring organization with a mission to address gaps of knowledge, opportunity, and networks for minority girls and women by offering exposure to multifaceted experiences companioned with education, physical/mental health, career, social change, and community service to cultivate leadership skills.

In addition to her service to community, Dr. Monger has more than 20 years of experience in HIV/AIDS and public health, she has worked on multiple levels of public health including state government, research, academia, and community.
