Morgan Gray is a distinguished black abolitionist, writer, and scholar dedicated to empowering the Black community and combating systemic racism. A graduate of Mississippi State University with a major in History and a minor in African American history, Morgan’s academic journey was marked by exceptional leadership and service.
During her time at Mississippi State University, Morgan served as the President of the Holmes Cultural Diversity Center’s I.D.E.A.L. Woman organization, championing academic excellence, professional growth, and community service. Her outstanding contributions earned her the Spirit of State Award, the Student Leadership and Community Engagement Award, and the President of the Year recognition from the Student Choice Awards.
Morgan is the creator and host of the Afrocentric Podcast, a platform dedicated to advocating for and informing Black Americans about the importance of adopting an Afrocentric perspective while navigating predominantly white spaces. Through insightful discourse and thought-provoking analysis, she challenges Eurocentric narratives and celebrates Black excellence.
In recognition of her unwavering commitment to combating white supremacy and racism, Morgan was honored with the prestigious Beacon of Hope award and a $15,000 grant from the Southern Poverty Law Center. She is currently serving as an AmeriCorps VISTA, partnering with the Mississippi Minority Farmers Alliance for a two-year service commitment.
Morgan’s life mission is to advocate for and pay homage to the countless Black women who have paved the way for her success. Through her work, she continues to inspire and empower others, carrying forward a legacy of resilience, strength, and cultural pride.
